Dendrobates tinctorius "Azureus"

Line: Josh's Frogs x Black Jungle Exotics.

Unknown filial generation.

This frog is perfect for beginners just getting into the hobby! This was one of my firsts. Dendrobates tinctorius "Azureus" is a blue poison dart frog with varying black spots. These bold frogs have a quiet call. They are a larger frog: females are approximately 2" and males averaging about 1.5" at maturity.

These frogs should only be housed in groups as juveniles to sub adults. As they reach adults, around 10-12 months, they should be paired off. The females tend to be female to female aggressive. It is possible to house two males with one female. We recommend at least 10 gallons per frog.

Natural location: Found in the forests of the Sipaliwini Savanna, which is located in southern Suriname and adjacent to Brazil.
